Registrations open for the 2017 Geneva International Triathlon

The Geneva International Triathlon is returning on the 15th and 16th of July 2017 following a year long sabbatical after the 2015 European Championships.

The many race formats and distances on offer will allow triathletes of all ages and abilities to take part in a weekend of Triathlon right in the heart of Geneva.

The usual race formats will be on offer, with a Short Distance (500m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) race organised on the Saturday afternoon and the Standard Distance (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run) race taking place on Sunday morning.

A new race format, the Super Sprint (250m swim, 6.7km bike, 2.5km run) will also be introduced on the Saturday. Perfect for those wishing to participate in their first triathlon, this format is also an opportunity for experienced racers to test themselves over a shorter distance race.

Kids aged 6 to 13 will also be able to take part in the Kidsathlon and Ecoliers races on Saturday morning – a perfect opportunity to introduce your children to a new sport.

Each race will see participants compete on a carefully-designed course in the heart of Geneva – a swim course in Lake Geneva, a bike course by the lake and up the event’s infamous Chemin de l’Impératrice, and a run back along the shores of the lake. Registrations for all races are now open on!

Relay Triathlon

New for 2017, each of the races (Standard, Short and Super Sprint) will be open to relay teams. Three team members, three sports, one race.

Take part with your training partners, friends, colleagues or family to complete your first Triathlon as a team. Each team member races over one leg of the event, so you can all take part and enjoy the race together.

Run & Bike

You can also take part in our brand new race, the Run and Bike on Saturday evening. Teams of two will cover a 13km course (2 laps of the bike course) and share a bike between them.

Teammates must take turns running and biking, but stay near each other at all times and cross the finish line together. This is a perfect opportunity to try out a new sport with your friends, colleagues, significant other or club mates. Don’t miss out!
