  • DO I NEED A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE ?
    You don’t need any medical certificate to participate in the Generali Genève Marathon.
  • I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MY REGISTRATION FORM
    Contact us via email at info@genevemarathon.org with the subject: REGISTRATION FORM PROBLEM and send us a screenshot of your issue alongside a detailed description.
  • I DID NOT RECEIVE MY CONFIRMATION EMAIL

  • I HAVE AN ISSUE WHILST PAYING FOR MY REGISTRATION
    Was your registration confirmed but you are now unable to return to amend your details? Contact us via email at info@genevemarathon.org with the subject: PAYMENT PROBLEM
  • I WANT TO CHANGE MY RACE
    If you wish to change your race this is indeed possible under certain conditions : For a cheaper race: email us at info@genevemarathon.org but please note that no reimbursement will be made. For a more expensive race: email us at info@genevemarathon.org and we will change your distance. Please note that you might pay the price difference. Once the payment done, your new registration will be validated and you will receive a confirmation email.
  • HOW TO FIND THE START WAVE I HAVE SELECTED?
    You can find the start wave you have chosen in your runner’s area. This start wave  can be modified, but you will not receive a confirmation email reminding you of the slot you have chosen.  That is why, if you modify it several times, we invite you to go to your runner’s area to easily find this information.
  • I WANT TO CHECK/MODIFY MY PERSONAL DETAILS
    Log on into your runner’s profile and click on “edit my entry”. For more specific changes, such as the name on your bib, contact us at info@genevemarathon.org PLEASE NOTE THAT NO BIB TRANSFERS ARE ALLOWED
  • I WANT TO TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION
    The organization will not allow any transfer of registration!
  • I WANT TO CANCEL MY REGISTRATION
    It is possible to change the race. To do this, send us an email providing the following data: Name, first name, date of birth, registration code and the race in which you wish to participate. Please note: If the new ride is more expensive, you will pay the difference. If the new ride is cheaper, there is no refund. Changes to races are only possible if places are available. During full races, these changes will no longer be possible.
  • I AM A PARTICIPANT IN DISABLED SPORTS, ARE THERE THINGS PLANNED FOR ME?
    Of course! We welcome everyone to our races. Please contact us by email info-tri@genevetriathlon.ch so that we can discuss it together.
  • DO I NEED TO PRESENT A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE?
    No medical certificate is required.
  • HOW DO I COLLECT MY BIB DURING THE TRIATHLON VILLAGE?
    I must present an identity document and my withdrawal voucher (received by email) printed or on my phone.
  • CAN A FRIEND COLLECT MY BIB FOR ME?
    Collection of your bib by a friend is possible as long as you give them a copy of your identity document and your collection voucher. Without identification, no bib can be issued.
  • ARE TIME LIMITS IMPOSED?
    Kidsathlon 6-10 years Total time limit: 10 minutes Schoolchildren 11-13 years old Total time limit: 20 minutes Discovery Total time limit: 1h30 Shorts Total time limit: 2h30 1h30 after the start of the race (last swimming start), participants will no longer be able to take on a new loop of the bike course. Participants who will not be on their last bike lap at this time will have the opportunity to complete the running course without completing the bike course. Standard Total time limit: 4h30 2h30 after the start of the race (last swimming start), participants will no longer be able to take on a new loop of the bike course. Participants who will not be on their last bike lap at this time will have the opportunity to complete the running course without completing the bike course. Half Total time limit: 8h00 3h45 after the start of the race (last swimming start), participants will no longer be able to take on a new loop of the bike course. Participants who will not be on their last bike lap at this time will have the opportunity to complete the running course without completing the bike course. Any participant who has not completed the course in its entirety will be downgraded in the final ranking.
  • HOW IS TIMING DONE?
    For triathlon events, a chip (transponder) will be given to you when collecting your bibs. It is to be worn on the left ankle during the entire event. The chip will act as a witness for the torchbearers who will have to pass it on each time the relay passes. Any failure to return, for whatever reason, will be charged CHF30.-
  • HOW WILL THE DEPARTURES BE SCHEDULED?
    In order to streamline departures and the influx of swimmers on the swimming course, departures will be made in waves. Each wave of swimmers corresponds to a color of swimming cap without distinction between men and women.
  • CAN YOU GO BAREFOOT FROM THE BIKE PARK TO THE SWIMMING START?
    Yes, the journey to the swimming start can be done barefoot on the asphalt. However, it is advisable to wear light protection (socks, flip-flops, etc.). Please note that items left at the swimming start will not be repatriated.
  • WILL THERE BE SUPPLIES ON THE COURSE DURING THE RACE?
    2 refueling areas are planned: - 1 liquid refreshment (water only) + fruit on the running course - 1 liquid and solid refreshment at the finish of the race

  • CAN I USE MY WALKER OR SMARTPHONE DURING THE RACE?
    The use of portable music players is prohibited. The smartphone can only be used when stationary and only in an emergency.
  • ARE THERE TOILETS ON THE COURSE?
    Yes, there are toilets in the middle of the running route (public toilets) as well as in the changing area.
  • ARE GOPRO ON-BOARD CAMERAS ALLOWED?
    Yes, on-board cameras are authorized but it is prohibited to attach them to the cycling helmet and they must not constitute any danger for the athlete or other competitors. The images may under no circumstances be used to contest an arbitration decision.
  • CAN I HAVE MY BIKE REPAIRED IN THE VILLAGE?
    Yes ! A bicycle repair truck will be present in the village for all your small technical problems. You will just have to pay for the parts used.
  • LA CEINTURE PORTE DOSSARD EST-ELLE OBLIGATOIRE ?
    Non, la ceinture porte dossard n'est pas obligatoire, mais elle est fortement recommandée. Pour le vélo ton dossard doit être mis dans ton dos, et pour la course à pied, il doit être visible devant. Le porte dossard facilite cette transition et permet de ne rien avoir à défaire pendant la course.
  • QU'ELLE EST LA DIFFÉRENCE ENTRE UNE TRIFONCTION ET UNE COMBINAISON ?
    La trifonction est conçue spécialement pour pouvoir être portée pendant les trois disciplines, elle est fabriquée en matière technique pour sécher rapidement, être confortable et laisser une grande liberté de mouvement. La combinaison est quant à elle conçue uniquement pour la natation, spécialement pour des longues distances, dans des eaux froides, et permet de conserver la chaleur humaine tout en offrant une certaine flottabilité (ce qui améliore ainsi la performance).
  • IS A SWIMMING SUIT MANDATORY?
    Only if the water temperature is below 15.9°C. It is prohibited if the water temperature is above 24°C.
  • LA TRIFONCTION EST-ELLE OBLIGATOIRE ?
    Non, nous recommandons le port de la trifonction pour faciliter les transitions entre chaque discipline. Cependant, il est possible d'effectuer la natation en maillot de bain classique.
  • WHAT TYPE OF BIKE IS ALLOWED ON THE RACE?
    Road, city and mountain bikes are allowed. Fixies (bikes without brakes) and electric bikes are prohibited. Extenders are allowed.
  • QU'EST CE QUE JE DOIS PRENDRE AVEC MOI SUR LE VÉLO ?
    Nous te recommandons de prendre un kit de réparation en cas de crevaison, et de quoi grignoter si tu penses en avoir besoin. Des ravitaillements sont proposés sur les parcours (tout dépend du format), mais si tu veux prendre les produits que tu utilises à l'entrainement, tu en as le droit.
  • EST CE QUE JE PEUX FAIRE LE VELO EN BASKET ?
    Bien sûr, il est tout à fait possible de faire le vélo avec des chaussures de sport classique. Les chaussures automatiques ne sont pas obligatoires, mais recommandées pour les longues distances.
  • PENDANT LE VÉLO, OÙ PLACER MON DOSSARDS ?
    Sur le vélo, le dossard doit être porté dans le dos, pour qu'il soit visible tout au long du parcours.
  • OÙ PLACER MON DOSSARD PENDANT LA COURSE À PIED ?
    Pour la course à pied, le dossard doit être porté devant, pour qu'il soit visible par les bénévoles ainsi que l'ensemble des parties prenantes.
  • DOES THE ENTIRE RELAY TEAM HAVE TO BE PRESENT AT THE BIB COLLECTION?
    As part of a relay race, the presence of all team members is not mandatory when collecting bibs. The team member present collects all the items given when collecting the bibs and is responsible for giving them to their teammates.
  • COMMENT SE PASSE LE RELAIS ?
    Le passage de "témoin" doit se faire dans le parc de change, à votre emplacement. Le transpondeur qui vous est fournis lors du retrait des dossards sert de "témoins", et devra impérativement être transmis de relayeur en relayeur. Sans cela, l'équipe ne pourra pas avoir de temps complet sur la course.
  • FOR RELAYS, ARE THE STARTS AT THE SAME TIME AS OTHERS?
    The starts of the relays in all races take place in a dedicated wave without distinction between men and women.
  • EN RELAIS, POUVONS NOUS FINIR LA COURSE ENSEMBLE ?
    Tout à fait, au bout de la ligne droite d'arrivée, tu trouveras un panneau pour retrouver tes coéquipiers et finir le tout ensemble.
  • IS IT POSSIBLE TO DROP MY BIKE IN THE CHANGE PARK BEFORE REMOVING MY BIB?
    No because presenting your bib is essential to drop off your bike. Therefore, you will need to remove your bib BEFORE dropping off your bike.
  • QUELLE EST MA PLACE DANS LE PARC DE CHANGE ?
    Ta place correspond au 4 derniers chiffres de ton dossard.
  • LE PARC DE CHANGE ENFANT EST-IL LE MÊME ?
    Non, le parc de change enfant est différent, il est plus petit et est installé en face de celui des adultes. Chacun pourra mettre ses affaires dans une caisse en plastique qui lui est dédié.
  • JE PEUX PRENDRE UN SAC AVEC MOI DANS LE PARC DE CHANGE ?
    Oui, vous pouvez prendre un sac avec vous pour poser vos affaires à votre emplacement, du moment que celui-ci n'encombre pas le passage, et n'empiète pas sur les emplacements de vos voisins.
