Heatwave alert: your safety is our priority!
The weekend is shaping up to be a very hot one in Geneva. Given the expected high temperatures, here are the essential recommendations for staying on top of all three disciplines:
Swimming
Don't change anything, the water of Lake Geneva refreshes you naturally.
Listen to your body: if you feel tired or short of breath, slow down.
Bike
Regular hydration (500–750 ml/h in hot conditions) with an electrolyte drink.
Always carry an extra water bottle, especially on the Half.
Pour water over your head and neck to keep yourself refreshed!
Water tanks will be installed in the changing area to allow you to fill your bottles or flasks between each discipline.
Running
Wear a light cap or visor, wet if possible: it protects you from the sun and maintains your temperature.
Alternate water and electrolyte drink at each refreshment stop.
Wet your face and neck regularly: simple, effective.
⚠️ To watch closely:
Slow down if you feel:
❗ Dizziness
❗ Headaches
❗ Cramps, nausea
Don't hesitate to slow down or stop: your health remains the priority .
Also watch out for other participants: report any signs of exhaustion to a volunteer.
Stay alert, hydrate, protect yourself from the sun, and take care of yourself and others—for a safe weekend of exercise.
